MSU-main Intramural sports competition 2016

Intramural sports day programs provide students with opportunities to participate in a variety of recreational and competitive sport activities. Pretty much anyone and everyone can join and form whatever team with whomever they want and to provide athletes and represent their colleges. But the things is, I am one of those people who don’t enjoy playing sports. I wasn’t an athlete in high school. And I don’t have the athletic hobbies even now that I’m college. So how can I enjoy intramural days?

This semester on October 5, 2016, at Marawi City, the Mindanao State University Main Campus officially started its yearly Intramural Games competition. It is the period of the year that MSU students, athletes, coaches and the faculties and staffs of every colleges prepared for their pride for the series of sport competition. While people like me who are not involved in any sports activities still continued to attend classes every day though some of the classes were postponed because of the event and as a student it’s another no class for me. But what makes me appreciate and be interested in watching sports competition are the cool and handsome players of different colleges. I liked watching the annual intramural days by cheering my friends and the people I know who are athlete players. Usually I loved watching the intramurals during the final competition because most powerful and competitive colleges will remain to fight each other for the championship, such as the colleges of Engineering, the College of Physical Education and Recreation. And of course the home of champion my college The College of Business Administration and Accountancy. These three colleges are leading and often fought for the top spot in most categories of games and events every year. But sad to say on October 11, 2016 the MSU intramural games committee announced the Over-all Champions. And the College of Business Administration and Accountancy didn’t make it to be the over-all champion this year but gladly it still manages to take the 2nd runner-up spot despite of short time of training and preparation of the college. And The College of Engineering took the 1st runner-up spot in overall categories. And the college of The College of Physical Education and Recreation took the Over-all Champion in Intramural Game.

The good thing about the Intramurals Competition is that it helps develops teamwork, it also boost and encourage the players and students to do their best in everything that they do. Though my colleges didn’t won the championship but still students and faculties of CBAA are the most competitive and supportive to their representatives.

Digital Marketing Skills Training 2016

Gaining and Increasing Customers through Digital marketing

Going digital is not just the wave of the future, it is engaging and delighting  your customers and by using Digital Marketing it allows businesses to connect with customers anytime, anywhere and always at prime time. In connection with that the Marketing department of the College of Business Administration and Accountancy held its first Digital Marketing Skills Training on October 23, 2016 at Iligan Computer Institute, Iligan City, Philippines. Because there is a need for marketers to understand the digital media and learn the process, tips, actions and insights for effective customer engagement and success. Being a marketing student and a future entrepreneur participating and engaging in this kind of skills training can gave me an advantage to understand the growing job demands of a freelancer, other jobs through digital and how to use internet effectively to gain money.
In the training There are various topics that have been discussed such as Digital Opportunities through Rural Impact Sourcing, How to start working as an online freelancer, basic programming on E-commerce Site, social media marketing , graphics designing and video editing. Personally I was very interested on the topic which is discussed by Mr. Ronald Ramboanga, Founder and CEO of Knights of Online Marketers also known as Ms. Piper on how to start working as an online freelancer. When I was on my on the job training in PSA (Philippine statistics authority) most of my co-trainers are engage in online job for editing, doing videos and the likes and because of that I’m envious to them because they have extra income while studying, through participating in this kind of skills training it enlightens me to the things that I don’t know in the world of digital and how to use internet effectively to make money. And also currently I’m taking up entrep109 for my preparation for my practicum next semester. I belong in social enterprise and what caught my attention was when Mr. Jhonny Paul Lagura, Founder and CEO of RISPhilippines said that while helping the community you can also gain profit in your business. As a social enterprise the insight and knowledge that he shared to us helps me a lot. And will use it to aspire and inspire my group mates other people. We also have Mr. Junriel Bonachita, Co-Founder and CTO of RISPhilipines, Mrs. Xerxes Queen Apostol Libre, Proprietor of Dexter Printhouse and Mr. Francis Steve Martinez, Enterprise owner of Tibo Martinez Videography.

The speakers were very humorous and inspirational. Their stories in life did not start well, but they strive hard and through persistence and constancy they arise and become leaders and role models for youths and the people around them. I had fun while learning on this training and it taught me many things not just about the different opportunities in digital marketing but also the lessons in life that I learned from them. It motivates me more to be a better person and not to give up on my dreams and pursuit what I really want in life.

MSUAN WAYS TO ENJOY THE 55TH FOUNDATION DAY

(Photo with 7th president of MSU System Dr. Habib W. Macaayong)

So today you found out that the foundation day is near and you said to yourself “Wow!! another no class day and  less boring day in my college life”. Worry no more, I will give some hints and tips on how to enjoy in this said occasion . I will be giving three helpful tips to make this event worth while and fun too.

Tip number one: Capture the Moments. They say “Pics or it did not happen” of course any great event sucks if you don't have photo to prove it and remember. With the fun moments you had and you can't share it with your friends, that would suck so much right? especially that Msuans has a unique ways in enjoying the foundation every year such as "open house" which  means every female and male dormitories and big cottages inside the campus has prepared series of fun activities for every students and guests who wants to visit in their dormitories and cottages. This event are practice inside the campus to make the foundation day more fun and exciting every each year. Second the grand parade every year it wouldn't be  fun if you can't capture at least two or three photos of you with your friends and upload it on social media. right?

Tip number two: Join the School Activities. There are a lot of activities in the school on Foundation Day it is a great way of having and knowing new friends. If you have passion for physical activities then you should try sports activities, and influence your friends with the same interest to join you. this activity helps you to relief stress that you accumulated also great way to flush all those fat. If you don't like physical activity but you have talents in dancing and singing then you should join the Dance Extravagana and Musical Extravaganza and be a contestant to represent your colleges. this kind of event where you can show off your skills specific to your field, you could earn  victory and all win the competition. So yeah Activities are fun if you know how to enjoy it.

Tip number three:  Have food trip with your friends.  I guess this is the best tip that I could recommend to you. foundation day is once a year event that student really enjoyed. Well  there are a lot of food stalls and booth especially  during this period of time(Foundation day), not just delicious but super affordable food and products that a student can really enjoy. this also great not just for you to enjoy the food but also to make unforgettable memories with your friends. you could share experiences and bond.this give you time to chill ,talk how your life goes.

My future dreams and Plans in life

VISION BOARD

When I was young, people would asked. What are my dreams in life? However as I mature, by the way I’m 21 years old this year. The number of people asking what are my dreams gradually disappearing. Holding my dreams until I become an adult isn't easy in this world. When face with reality, somewhere along the line, the fact that my dream is to become a Veterinarian seems way out of my reach, and seems too disappeared, causes me not to remember what my dreams to begin with at any given moment. However before completely forgetting my dreams, I'm glad my Mktg. 111 professor asked me once again about My Dreams and Future Plans in life.  Everyone has dreams, people dream about their future and I have dreams for the future just like everyone else. A person needs to achieve certain goals in one's life before you can call them successful. Success is to achieve goals, you have set. I have set certain goals I would like to achieve in my lifetime. Some of these goals are personal, career, love, travel, healthy lifestyle and financial stability.  My career goals in life are to find a good job that makes me happy, get a good education, and find a job that makes enough money for me to support my family.

First and foremost College is my first step to achieve my dream. Currently I am a fourth yr. college student of Mindanao State University main campus, college of Business Administration and Accountancy major in Entrepreneurial Marketing. I will do my best to pass all my subject this semester for me to have 100 % assurance that I can graduate next semester.  I have planned to take and pass the Civil Service Exam next year before graduation. After graduation hopefully I can work at the TIEZA (Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority) because it's one my dream work, to be an employee of that particular government agency. After being employed at TIEZA I’m considering to invest in livestock and poultry business using my earned salary. After all I have a little background of that kind of business. I have also dream to travel Vigan city and some part of Ilocos Region. When I was still in high school I always wonder how it would feel to be there. And also before I die I would definitely go to Dubai to experience Skydiving. My lifetime goals in life is to stay healthy as much as possible, in my family, my mother, my father and my three older siblings are not to healthy and they are all chubby (I feel bad to call them fat). At the very young age, I'm very conscious of my weight and lifestyle. I tend to eat vegetables and fish most of the time

I plan to buy a unique house and car in the future maybe after 10 or 15 yrs from now. I dream of settling down in an urban area, someplace that’s not too big.  Hopefully by the time I have a house, I’ll have a husband and can start my own family. I dream of having a son to carry on the family name. As you can see, I have big plans for my future. I plan to make something of myself, and not to give up. I have a major fear of failure, and I won’t let it get to me. My parents expect a lot out of me, and I think I have done a good job so far. My dreams are what keep me going; they are an object for me to strive for. I will obtain that object one day. I remember a quotation that aspire me to inspire others that is said by someone, I can’t remember her name but she said “the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams”  and I totally agree with her.
